Ferrari Intro 'PowerPivot Advanced Data Modeling'

13 May 2011 by The European SharePoint Conference Team

PowerPivot for SharePoint is the new BI engine from Microsoft and opens the gates for Self-Service BI, i.e. the capability, for users, to create their own BI data models. Users can generate their own reports with PowerPivot for Excel 2010 and then upload them to the SharePoint server where, if installed, the server version of PowerPivot for SharePoint takes care of all processing and rendering of the report.

During the SharePoint conference Alberto Ferrari, one of the authors of Microsoft PowerPivot for Excel 2010: give your data meaning will provide a session showing what kind of reports users will be able to develop using some advanced DAX techniques, taking examples from real world scenarios and looking at different DAX solutions.

Many other examples of DAX usage, to better understand PowerPivot capabilities can be found on the speaker's blog.
