MVP Takeover – Jasper Oosterveld

Jasper Oosterveld

My name is Jasper Oosterveld and I live in Amsterdam with my wife Katie, our daughter Flora and our dog Millie. I have been working with SharePoint since 2008 as a SharePoint Consultant. In my role as SharePoint Consultant I support customers with the process of implementing SharePoint.

Collaborating in the SharePoint and Office 365 community is my passion. I speak at SharePoint and Office 365community events such as DIWUG, Office 365 User Group, SharePoint and Office 365 Saturday, European SharePoint Conference and SharePoint Connect Amsterdam. I am the co-founder of the site SPCNL and the SharePoint Business User Group NL. SPCNL collects Dutch SharePoint articles written by SharePoint experts and enthusiasts. The SharePoint Business User Group NL is dedicated to the business users working on a daily basis with SharePoint. Topics such as Document Management, User Adoption and Governance are discussed on Yammer and during meetings. For my community efforts I received the SharePoint MVP award in 2014.

Highlight a cool SharePoint tool

Guest MVP’s choice of content to highlight

At the moment I am presenting a SharePoint Online session called SharePoint Online: Friend or Foe. I review suitable workloads for SharePoint Online and the current challenges of the platform. Although SharePoint Online has really grown as a platform over the years and its star is still rising, we are facing many challenges. One of these challenges is the release cycle. Microsoft has really changed their release strategy and are releasing monthly updates, fixes and new features for SharePoint Online. From a SharePoint geeks perspective this is great but from a business perspective it can be less great. You don’t want to leave the office on Friday with smoothly running SharePoint Online solutions but on Monday morning they stopped working because Microsoft changed some API’s without communicating this change. This is all going to change soon or in the near future. Are you interested in learning more about this subject? Join my session when you can or view this session from TechEd North America.
