About me:
I have been training, consulting, writing and speaking on SharePoint technologies since 2002 – wow, sounds like forever now that I think about it. During this time, I have been awarded the honor of being a SharePoint Server MVP 8 years in a row, have been a certified Microsoft trainer and authored multiple SharePoint books on SharePoint 2013, 2010 and even 2007.
My true joy comes from meeting with people in the field and being able to provide mentoring to them from the knowledge I have gathered through the years. There is a lot that I still don’t know within SharePoint, but I still have been able to provide value (that’s what they tell me at least) through the various mechanisms that I have reached people through the years. I have been on the SharePoint speaker circuit since 2006 speaking at numerous conferences around the world including Microsoft’s TechEd, SharePoint Conference, Ignite, SPTechCon, SharePoint Connections, SharePoint Fest, and more.
I am the founder and CEO of VisualSP (www.visualsp.com) – home of VisualSP Help System: the in-context, on-demand Help for SharePoint users. The VisualSP site also provides hundreds of SharePoint video tutorials produced by industry experts.

Top Twitter accounts to follow:
There are too many good ones to select just a few. Here are the few that come to mind first:
@ItUnity01 – ITUnity community has been flourishing nicely since it has been formed. Lots of good info already on the site and following this account will keep you up to date on all the new stuff.
@sympmarc – Marc Anderson is the King of social in my mind. He’s always posting great stuff on his account. I’m not even sure how Marc finds time to do ‘real work’ ;-).
@MarkQJones – Mark Jones started a great SharePoint community at sharepoint-community.net. His team still continues to offer wonderful info on their sites and hold very quality events for the community.
@cmswire – CMSWire is definitely one of the authorities when it comes to original content on many subject areas including SharePoint.
@sharepointvideo – (very biased here) This account will keep you up to date on all that’s happening with our company SharePoint-Videos.com (which is now VisualSP)

Cool Tool
Organizations spend Millions of dollars on licensing for SharePoint. However, not enough time is spent on adoption techniques to get people to use SharePoint. Check out the VisualSP Help System that provides a Help tab which follows the users around wherever they go within SharePoint providing them the in-context help they need to be successful – www.VisualSP.com
Final Thought
There has been a lot of noise in the SharePoint community the past few years around SharePoint in the cloud. My advice to organizations is to cut through this noise and figure out what works for You. There are multiple choices these days on how and where to host your SharePoint environment – public or private cloud, Office 365, on-premises or a combination of some of these. Each organization should evaluate its own requirements instead of just following the crowd. Best wishes to all!
