Bjørn Olstad, Microsoft, Norway

Keynote 1: SharePoint 2010 - THE Platform for Business Collaboration, Internet Sites and More
Microsoft Distinguished Engineer, and former CTO of FAST, Bjørn Olstad will share his unique view of one of the most popular products in Microsoft history. As the leader of the Information Experiences group, Mr. Olstad will discuss the business momentum and investment areas in the latest release including demonstrations of functionality that makes SharePoint the premier choice for a customer's business collaboration and Internet Sites platform.

Bjørn Olstad is a Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft, heading up the Enterprise Search Group (ESG). Dr. Olstad previously served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of FAST, a Norwegian Enterprise Search company that was acquired by Microsoft in 2008.
Before joining FAST, Dr. Olstad was Director of Research and Development for Cardiac Ultrasound at General Electric Medical Systems. He has also served as a professor in computer science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where he was the youngest person ever to be awarded a professorship.

Keynote 2: Planning & Deploying Enterprise 2.0 Social Media Strategy with SharePoint 2010
SharePoint 2010 brings great enhancements to profiles including some new social media features. In this session we look at a real world customer deployment and strategies including integration with social media vendors including Chatter, Yammer, and NewsGator. We'll look at how traditional portals are forced to change forever or become stale.

Joel was the first dedicated SharePoint Administrator ever.  He's been working with SharePoint nearly 11 years and worked at Microsoft in both IT and the product teams including Architecting the first rollout of Microsoft's own global search, intranet, team sites, and my sites. He managed the IT audience in the SharePoint 2007 rollout. Joel has travelled over 100 countries in his quest to connect the global SharePoint community, and spoken in hundreds of events including keynote sessions across all 6 peopled continents.

Keynote 3: Successful Deployment: Lessons Learned From the Field

Mirjam van Olst & Spencer Harbar Take a whirlwind tour of lessons from the field since the release of SharePoint Server 2010 to understand the key factors of a successful roll out in the enterprise across planning, architecture, implementation, deployment and operations. Based upon some of the most common pitfalls and worst practices of early adopters and the key challenges they have faced, the keynote will detail the lessons learnt alongside best practices to help ensure a successful deployment. Ideal for all disciplines, including Information Workers, Business Decision Makers, Developers and IT Professionals.

Mirjam van Olst works as a SharePoint Architect for Avanade in Netherlands. Having worked with different versions of SharePoint since 2004 Mirjam has been helping companies in different industries and of different sizes to implement successful SharePoint portal, ECM and search solutions.
Mirjam is one of 50 Microsoft Certified Masters for SharePoint 2007 and one of 15 Microsoft Certified Masters for SharePoint 2010.

Being a strong community advocate Mirjam is a co-organizer of the Dutch Information Worker User Group (DIWUG). Apart from being a regular author and editor for the popular DIWUG eMagazine, she is also an author for the SDN magazine, the Dutch .Net Magazine and the Dutch TechNet magazine. Mirjam is a regular speaker at both national and international conferences and events and can be found blogging at http://sharepointchick.com. Mirjam has been awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award in 2010 and 2011. In her spare time Mirjam likes to play tennis and hang out with friends and family.

Biography:

Spencer Harbar is an enterprise architect who helps organizations implement and drive value from solutions based upon Microsoft SharePoint. With over sixteen years of commercial experience in the architecture, design, development, deployment and operational service management of Web based applications and hosting platforms, his broad base of fundamental skills routinely enables Europe's largest organizations to succeed with SharePoint. Spencer is one of fifteen people worldwide currently to hold the Microsoft Certified Master for SharePoint 2010 certification, and is the content author and instructor for the Platform Security, Authentication & Authorization, Business Intelligence, User Profile Service, Enterprise Content Management and Web Content Management modules of the SharePoint MCM.

He is also one of 50 people worldwide currently to hold the Microsoft Certified Master for SharePoint 2007 certification. Spencer represents Microsoft at events worldwide and was a speaker most recently at the SharePoint Conference 2009 and Microsoft Tech Ed Developers EMEA, 2007. He also presents at other events such as SharePoint Best Practices 2011, SharePoint Connections Europe 2011. In his spare time he listens to the Jazz giants of yesteryear and some young blood, and spends time with family and friends in the beautiful capital city of Edinburgh, Scotland and his home town of Manchester, England.
