How to convince your CIO about Yammer and answer his concerns

This time I will tell about one of my favourite topics ever nowadays. Gamification! This is the first part of an article talking about what Gamification is all about and how it can be used in classic Intranets (in example on SharePoint) to amplify end user engagement and boost productivity.
Analytics have been completely revised in SharePoint 2013. Some of the core tech in the previous FAST release has been fused together with SharePoint enterprise search to create a new and powerful analytics engine.
Perhaps the most under-appreciated feature of enterprise social is the very richness of communication that it affords. It allows us to not only see what people say, but also observe many more aspects of what they actually do. And, of course, those may be two very different things.
One of the things we struggle with as SharePoint developers is that we have worked long and hard to master the techniques of server-side SharePoint development and keep up with the rise and fall of technologies and products like Sandbox Solutions and SharePoint Designer. We built up our portfolio of custom web parts that we could compose into solutions for our clients. Maybe we started mixing a bit of AJAX and JavaScript in there to spice up the user experience.
If we have to audit a SharePoint environment or we are working for a customer in which we are required to deliver solutions with a high standard of quality and the use of best practices in terms of the components being developed, it is very important and recommended to make an exhaustive analysis of these components in order to detect any problem or issues on them before doing any deployment to pre-production or production environments. One of the options we have to perform this analysis is to use the free tool MSOCAF (Microsoft SharePoint Online Code Analysis Framework) provided by Microsoft.
We are thrilled to be exhibiting at the 2014 European SharePoint conference! There is a lot of exciting stuff happening this year – we’re particularly interested in the talks around cloud strategy, document compliance and governance, and increasing end-user efficiency and productivity.
