Our lives are dictated by the latest technologies, such as workflow software, with providers offering us solutions and applications that we never knew we needed. As a result, our corporate models mimic the convenience and pace at which we live our day-to-day lives to match how we conduct business. In a world that’s become increasingly mobile, the changing workforce requires faster, more agile workflow software.
In an earlier article I discussed SharePoint Mobile and the range of options for developing mobile SharePoint solutions ranging from responsive web design to building native apps for each platform. Mobile is the next big thing for business now that the Bring Your Own Device genie is out of the bottle, and they probably don’t just want a web site – they want an app!
The first 3 of 9 things to remember when gearing up for SharePoint Online Projects: 1. SharePoint Apps are not your typical web parts, there are limitations related to functionality and branding
2. Be careful with promised custom functionality in your workflows, you are limited to out of the box workflow actions
3. Sites created by apps (aka app sites) are limited in functionality, for example tools such as SharePoint Designer and many 3rd party migration tools are not able to connect to them.
