Cloud computing is an information technology paradigm that enables ubiquitous access to shared pools of configurable system resources and higher-level services that can be rapidly provisioned with minimal management effort, often over the Internet, as noted by Wikipedia.

Microsoft outline it as the delivery of computing services—servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics and more—over the Internet (“the cloud”). Companies offering these computing services are called cloud providers and typically charge for computing services based on usage, similar to how you are billed for water or electricity at home.

Therefore, our Cloud Category is full of handy tips, tricks and advise. Check out some of the Step by Step blogs or learn with our eBooks, How To videos and Webinars.

What is Power BI?
If I use the strict definition, then Power BI is a self-service intelligence service in the cloud in the form of a specialized site in Office 365. In a broader sense many will also include the Office tools needed to create the reports as part of the definition. This was a major shift for Microsoft, and for the SharePoint platform. At the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Toronto in July 2012, Kurt DelBene, President of the Microsoft Office Division, announced that Office 365 is growing faster than predicted, and is likely to eclipse SharePoint as the fastest growing Microsoft offer ever.
