Day one of the 2017 European SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure Conference opened with a warm welcome to all guests to Dublin, Ireland from ESPC’s Tracy O’Connell and the 2017 Programme Team of Mike Ammerlaan, Donald Hessing, Bill Ayers and Vikas Sahni.
The opening keynote session was delivered by none other than the ‘Father of SharePoint’ himself, Microsoft’s Jeff Teper. Addressing almost 1700 guests from across Europe and the globe, at what is a hugely exciting and fast-moving time in the space, Jeff focused on how to accelerate your digital transformation with SharePoint and OneDrive. Jeff’s speech noted “More organisations have adopted SharePoint in the last 12 months, than the last 12 years” as he and the team reviewed an action-packed year and showcased a number of exciting new features.
Following the excitement of hearing from Jeff, Sharegate’s Benjamin Niaulin delivered the day’s second keynote session with all his usual energy and wisdom as he discussed ‘Transforming Your Team to Deliver Productivity as a Service’. In particular Benjamin focused on how “We still haven’t transformed, we’ve migrated.”
Following the morning’s two fantastic keynotes, delegates enjoyed their first networking break, visit to the EXPO Hall and a chance to refuel, before breaking off into track sessions across a host of topics, from Teams, to PowerShell, PoweApps and Flow, the Microsoft Graph and beyond.
Major highlights of the day included Dan Holme demonstrating the truly beautiful UX within SharePoint pages, delivering on promises back in May.
As day one of the Conference drew to a close, a group of our delegates were only getting started as they got to work on the ESPC17 Hackathon.
If you are an ESPC17 delegate, please don’t forget to rate sessions and provide feedback via the MyESPC17 mobile site at sharepointeurope.com/myespc17. Apart from giving you the chance to win prizes, and support our chosen event charity, Nuts Over The Atlantic, this feedback is so important for ESPC and our speakers as we strive to deliver the best possible guest experience.
