Like most content and collaboration management systems from WordPress to Websphere, SharePoint grew up in the server rendered era where this model was largely implemented in ASP.NET with some AJAX support. Its 2016, the JavaScript language and performance has advanced dramatically to support distributed computing and rich, fast interactive user experiences on the client.
