Many times, we’ve seen SharePoint administrators create Team Sites using just the default theme. By going for the generic design, they miss out the advantages that may come with a pleasing look and feel of a Site.

In fact, a better design has proven to improve user experience. When quicker SharePoint adoption is of higher importance, aesthetics should be part of the efforts.

A great looking, brand-friendly theme will always contribute to the welcome feeling when using the Site. Take the time to customize the look and feel of your Team Site. It’s worth the effort.

And, it can be done quickly and easily.

Just be sure to be the creator of the Site or have the applicable permission.

You can change almost all the most important elements of design:

  • Colors;
  • Fonts;
  • Images;
  • Layouts;

SharePoint 2016 comes with many themes. You can choose from this collection or you can add your own.

In most cases, since the native themes can easily be customized, the need for adding your own theme is diminished.

You can easily preview the themes before committing to one. And, you can easily revert back to the original look.

The video below explains the key steps involved in changing the look and feel of your SharePoint Site.
