The State of SharePoint and Office 365 Development: complete the survey for a chance to win European SharePoint Conference tickets and more!

How exactly are companies using SharePoint and Office 365 in 2016? Is Hybrid now the most popular choice? Is a migration to SharePoint 2016 on the horizon? Are risky customizations causing endless problem? How many Farm Solutions are currently deployed? What third-party applications are being used?

At Rencore, we built the SharePoint Code Analysis Framework (SPCAF) to help developers ensure that their Office 365 and SharePoint customizations are built in the best way possible. Recognized by Microsoft, and with 4 MVPs in our ranks, we work extremely closely with those who work in the SharePoint and Office 365 enterprise world to bring transparency to development. And so we put together the State of SharePoint and Office 365 Development survey to find out how IT professionals like you are customizing your Microsoft environments.

With 1,000 people taking part last year (you can download the 2015 report here), we want you to contribute to this year’s survey. As well as adding your voice to the SharePoint and Office 365 community, you’ll get exclusive access to the results as soon as the report is live and you’ll also have the chance to win some awesome prizes!

Key findings from last year’s survey

The benefit of doing an annual survey is that we get a long term overview of how the community is changing, what challenges it is facing and to see how it is adapting. In 2015, just over 1,000 people took part and gave us a fascinating insight into the SharePoint and Office 365 world. Our report found:

  • 24% of organizations are still using SharePoint 2007 and earlier for certain tasks – with 1% still using SharePoint 2001!
  • A quarter of organizations have a hybrid
  • Most customizations to SharePoint are Farm Solutions or Webparts.
  • JQuery is by far the most popular third party framework for developers, used by 91%.
  • 49% of developers were taking big risks by using the broken SPDisposeCheck!
  • 25% of businesses don’t use any code analysis tools to check their customizations

Take part today. We’d love to hear from you.
