About the Venue – Austria Center Vienna

The Austria Center Vienna (ACV) is a prominent conference and exhibition center situated in the heart of Vienna, Austria. It is the largest conference center in Austria and one of the leading venues in Europe for international events. The ACV is situated in the Donaustadt district, near the banks of the Danube River. It is easily accessible by public transport, particularly the U1 subway line (Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station), which connects it directly to the city center and major transportation hubs. Vienna International Airport is also within easy reach, providing convenient access for international attendees. Its location encourages the use of public transportation, reducing the carbon footprint of events.

The Austria Center Vienna (ACV) is well-connected and can be reached through various modes of transportation.

 

 

Vienna International Airport

Vienna International Airport (VIE), also known as Flughafen Wien-Schwechat, is the primary international gateway to Vienna and is well-equipped to facilitate easy access to the Austria Center Vienna (ACV).

Distance: Vienna International Airport is approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) southeast of the Austria Center Vienna.

Travel Time: The journey from the airport to the ACV typically takes about 20-30 minutes by car, taxi, or ridesharing service, depending on traffic conditions.

By Train:

S-Bahn (S7 Line):

    • Take the S7 line from Vienna International Airport to Wien Praterstern.
    • At Wien Praterstern, transfer to the U1 subway line in the direction of Leopoldau.
    • Get off at the Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.
    • The ACV is a short walk from the station.

City Airport Train (CAT):

    • Take the CAT from Vienna International Airport to Wien Mitte/Landstraße.
    • At Wien Mitte/Landstraße, transfer to the U1 subway line in the direction of Leopoldau.
    • Get off at the Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.
    • The ACV is a short walk from the station.

By Bus:

Airport Bus (Vienna Airport Lines):

    • Take the Airport Bus from Vienna International Airport to Vienna International Centre (VIC).
    • The VIC stop is adjacent to the ACV, and it’s a short walk to the entrance.

By Taxi or Ridesharing:

Taxi:

    • Taxis are available at the airport. A taxi ride to the ACV typically takes around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic.
    • Provide the driver with the address: Bruno-Kreisky-Platz 1, 1220 Vienna, Austria.

Ridesharing:

    • Services like Uber and Bolt operate from Vienna International Airport. The ride usually takes around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

From Vienna International Airport (VIE)

S-Bahn (S7 Line):

  • Step 1: Take the S7 commuter train from Vienna International Airport to Wien Praterstern station.
  • Step 2: At Wien Praterstern, transfer to the U1 subway line in the direction of Leopoldau.
  • Step 3: Get off at Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.
  • Step 4: The ACV is a short walk from the Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.

Total Travel Time: Approximately 40-50 minutes.

City Airport Train (CAT):

  • Step 1: Take the CAT from Vienna International Airport to Wien Mitte/Landstraße station. The CAT journey takes about 16 minutes.
  • Step 2: At Wien Mitte/Landstraße, transfer to the U1 subway line in the direction of Leopoldau.
  • Step 3: Get off at Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.
  • Step 4: The ACV is a short walk from the Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.

Total Travel Time: Approximately 30-35 minutes.

 

From Vienna Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof)

Subway (U-Bahn):

  • Step 1: Take the U1 subway line from Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Central Station) in the direction of Leopoldau.
  • Step 2: Get off at Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.
  • Step 3: The ACV is a short walk from the Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre station.

Total Travel Time: Approximately 15-20 minutes.

Tickets:

Make sure to purchase a ticket before boarding the train. Tickets can be bought from ticket machines at the airport, train stations, or via the Wiener Linien mobile app.

Schedule:

Trains run frequently, but it’s always good to check the schedule, especially for late-night or early-morning travel.

Luggage:

If you have heavy luggage, most stations and trains are equipped to handle it, but be prepared to navigate some stairs and platforms.

The Austria Center Vienna is well-signposted and easily accessible by car from both the airport and the city center.

Directions from Vienna International Airport (VIE)

  1. Exit the Airport:
    • Follow signs to leave the airport and get on the A4 motorway towards Vienna.
  2. Take the A4 Motorway:
    • Drive on the A4 for approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles).
  3. Merge onto the A23 Motorway:
    • Take the exit toward the A23 motorway (Donauufer Autobahn) in the direction of Kagran/Brigittenau.
  4. Exit at Vienna International Centre (VIC):
    • Take exit 2 toward Vienna International Centre/Kaisermühlen. Follow signs for Vienna International Centre.
  5. Follow the Signs to Austria Center Vienna:
    • After exiting, follow the signs to the Austria Center Vienna. The venue is well-signposted.
  6. Parking:
    • The ACV has a large underground parking garage with over 1,000 spaces. Access the garage via Donau-City-Strasse or Schüttaustrasse. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the parking facilities.

  1. Get on the A23 Motorway:
    • From the city center, drive towards the A23 motorway (Donauufer Autobahn).
  2. Take the A23 North:
    • Head north on the A23 towards Kagran/Vienna International Centre.
  3. Exit at Vienna International Centre (VIC):
    • Take exit 2 toward Vienna International Centre/Kaisermühlen. Follow signs for Vienna International Centre.
  4. Follow the Signs to Austria Center Vienna:
    • After exiting, follow the signs to the Austria Center Vienna. The venue is well-signposted.
  5. Parking:
