Bogdan Crivat’s career is a testament to his deep passion for advanced analytics, machine learning, in-memory databases, and parallel computing. With a strong foundation in Mathematics and Computer Science, Bogdan’s academic journey began with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Bucharest in 1997. He further pursued his passion, earning a PhD from Universitatea Transilvania of Brasov, Romania, in 2011.

Bogdan has made contributions to the field of technology, particularly through his work on data mining, predictive analytics, and in-memory analytics. He is the author or co-author of 22 patents, with additional applications pending, reflecting his innovative approach. His professional journey began at Microsoft, where he spent over a decade (1999–2010) contributing as an engineer. During his first tenure at Microsoft, Bogdan worked on various projects, including Visual Studio and SQL Server Analysis Services, honing his skills in data-related technologies. After a successful stint, he took on engineering management roles at Apptio and Predixion Software, Inc., where he continued to drive advancements in technology.

In 2018, Bogdan returned to Microsoft, stepping into multiple engineering and product leadership roles. His leadership and knowledge have been instrumental in shaping products like Power BI and Azure Data Analytics.
