Top 10 Bars in Dublin

Dublin’s bar scene is as rich and characterful as the city itself, where Georgian charm meets contemporary cool. From perfectly poured pints in cosy trad pubs to cocktails in sleek modern bars, there’s something for every night owl. The real energy is in the city centre around Temple Bar, Grafton Street, Dame Street, and the surrounding streets, where nightlife, history, and atmosphere all collide.

While the Docklands area around The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) is convenient and relaxed, the historic centre is where Dublin truly comes alive after dark. That’s where you’ll find narrow streets, classic façades, and packed bars all within easy walking distance. We’ve created a Top 10 Bars in Dublin list to help you tap into the city’s famous pub and bar culture.

The Convention Centre Dublin is around 2 km from the city centre. Here’s how to get there:

  • Luas (Tram): Red Line to Spencer Dock or George’s Dock (about 5–10 minutes from the centre).
  • Bus: Multiple Dublin Bus routes link the Docklands with central hubs in roughly 10–20 minutes.
  • On Foot: A straightforward 15–25 minute walk along the River Liffey from areas like O’Connell Street, Temple Bar, or Grafton Street.
  • Car/Taxi: Typically 5–15 minutes from the city centre, depending on traffic.
