Data lifecycle management is a big topic these days. Organizations are increasingly aware of the need to get a grip on their data. This is being motivated by factors such as growing storage costs, shifting regulatory requirements and a changing security landscape.

In this session we’ll go through the various options for automating retention and archival in Microsoft 365. We’ll look at the Data Lifecycle Management and Record Management solutions in Microsoft Purview and at the possibilities of Microsoft 365 Archive and the options we have of designing and building solutions that do not depend on manual actions, but automate retention and archival, whether it be in-place or through cold storage. We’ll look at the possibilities of using configurable automation (shipped by Microsoft) and extending it with either the Power Platform or custom code.

Attendees will get an overview of the possible routes into the subject, combined with in-depth, real-world use cases and specifically worked out examples of how to create such solutions, the pro’s and cons and even some code sprinkled on top here and there.
