We are having some trouble deciding on the next location for the European SharePoint Conference so we would like to ask our European SharePoint Community and conference delegates to vote for the city that you believe is best suited to host the next Conference?
I recently learnt about a new (well new to me at any rate) type of SharePoint timer job. Rather than the standard timer jobs I normally create that inherit from SPJobDefinition, this different kind of timer job inherits from SPWorkItemJobDefinition http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.administration.spworkitemjobdefinition.aspx
With a normal SharePoint timer job (SPJobDefinition), the job is scheduled via an SPSchedule object, and is run whenever this schedule dictates. When an occurrence of the timer job runs, any logic that is contained in the Execute method is then called:

I made a presentation with the JBoye SharePoint 2010 community this week. The topic was Metadata and Content Types in SharePoint 2010. We talked about the vast set of functionality that depends on these things and the potential value of giving metadata management som focus.
The core of the talk went into some best practices for managing content types across midsized and large organizations.
