Joel Oleson was the first SharePoint administrator. He was hired by Microsoft to bring what would later be called SharePoint to the data center. He spent 7 years at Microsoft, including time as an architect in the IT department and on the product team as a Sr. Technical Product Manager. The first version of SharePoint Online was architected by him. After his time at Microsoft he traveled the globe building communities all over the world from Uzbekistan to Uruguay.
