Information Architecture for SharePoint Intranets

If your users can’t find what they need on your intranet, your information architecture (IA) probably needs some work! In this workshop, you will learn tips and best practices to improve “findability” and information organization and the basic concepts of information architecture. We will cover the critical aspects of intranet IA: navigation/site architecture, page design architecture, metadata architecture, and search experiences. You will learn approaches for planning navigation across the entire intranet (including the new global navigation for SharePoint) and on individual sites, along with tips and best practices for hubs and home sites, and page layouts that support both accessibility and great user experiences, and using metadata on pages and documents. Take away lessons about the best place to focus your IA energy and how to leverage the latest IA capabilities in Microsoft 365 – so that you can build an intranet that is an essential part of your digital workplace today and in the future.

The tutorial will feature an entire section on Viva Connections as well as the new global navigation (SharePoint app bar).
