Secure External Collaboration in Microsoft Teams

Working together in teams on a project, and collaborating around a topic is part of our daily routines. Being part of a team is not only focused on internal colleagues, but often a mix of an internal team of people working together with the customer, partner, or vendor. Office 365 supports this scenario by sharing documents with external users, which allows real-time co-authoring on documents and adding guest accounts to a team in Microsoft Teams to collaborate within a team similarly as internal collaboration with colleagues. Sharing documents and data with external users requires additional controls to ensure secure collaboration. It’s the responsibility of IT to find the right balance between security vs productivity.

This session covers recommended practices on setting up a secure external collaboration environment within your Office 365 tenant. This can be achieved by using Azure AD B2B Collaboration, Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and DLP to keep in control of your data. This demo-heavy session not only covers recommended practices but shows real live samples.

Benefits of Attending this Session:

  • Gain insights into governing your external users / guests!
  • Keep control of your data when working with guests
  • Prevent accidental guest invites
