When we focus on Social in a Microsoft context, we are talking about SharePoint, Teams, Teamwork and Yammer. Social can be a private network that helps employees collaborate across departments, locations and even business apps, it can be your company’s private network, your Facebook and Twitter handle, however various other applications are used to help you and your team stay on top of it all. With SharePoint and other Microsoft technologies, this is a broad subject which is constantly evolving.

In the workshop we’ll be doing in Copenhagen at the European SharePoint Conference we won’t just talk about it and do demos. All the attendees will have their own accounts in Yammer, Office 365 and SharePoint 2013. We’ll be provisioning Office 365 sites, following documents, configuring lists for ratings and likes, and really getting our hands dirty

Microsoft is heavy in its campaign since publically making available the Microsoft Office 2013 Preview for client and server operating systems in July. I spend a great deal of time discussing with our customers all things business productivity. One of the biggest questions that keeps coming up is whether they should upgrade to SharePoint 2013 sooner rather than later.
Along with the Preview version of SharePoint Server 2013 Microsoft have released a set of training videos and the associated PowerPoint slides. I recommend that you review the original material here on the Microsoft website, but if you don’t have a spare 15 hours then I thought you might find it useful if I posted the notes I took whilst I watched them. There are 14 modules in the set, each module contains one or more presentations. I will be creating one post for each module, with numbered headings within the post to indicate the different presentations.
