Axceler Enhances Security Expertise with Appointment of Michael X. Burns as Regional VP of Sales For Western North America

Burns as Regional Vice President of Sales for Western North America. Burns joins Axceler from Rapid7, the leading provider of security risk intelligence solutions, where he headed up Rapid7’s business development teams as Regional Vice President for Western U.S. and U.K. Sales. His tenure at Rapid7 gave him broad insight into the complex security concerns facing today’s enterprises, which will further enhance Axceler’s stellar reputation for SharePoint security, analysis and enforcement. When Burns left Rapid7, the company had 1,700 customers, with revenue that had increased more than 900% during the past four years and reported its tenth quarter of record revenue in Q3 2011.

Prior to Rapid7, Burns spent nine years at Stride & Associates, a leading provider of national placement services for full-time IT, financial and account professionals. He helped grow the Stride & Associates sales team to 500 at its peak, serving simultaneously in senior sales positions in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and New York City. Burns earned a BA in political science from Gettysburg College.
